Oscars 2012 Best Dressed

Did you guys watch last night!!?!?  Although the actual show was only 'okay' the fashion surely did not disappoint.  Everyone was looking quite handsome last night, even the women.  One big trend we saw on the red carpet last night was long sleeves which I get since it is February and its cold but it made little Shailene Woodley look 200 years old instead of 20.  And don't even get me started on Angelina, while I think she is hands down one of the prettiest faces in the world, she wore black.  Boring.  Couldn't see the wonderful structured bodice of her black velvet Versace gown.... and JUST because your dress has a slit doesn't mean you need to stand with your leg out like your peeing on a fire hydrant.  And then there is the wonderful Emma Stone, whom I adore but her dress just screamed Nicole Kidman in Balenciaga.  If you don't know what I'm talking about... google it.  Anyways here is my list for best dressed of the evening:

gwyneth paltrow in tom ford

tina fey in carolina herrera

octavia spencer in tadashi shoji

jessica chastain in alexander mcqueen

michelle williams in louis vuitton

rooney mara in givenchy

meryl streep in lanvin

Sunday Brunch

Today is a great day, it's Sunday! Woop woop, sunday brunch with the girls and then going out wedding dress shopping(not for me!) afterwards so I felt I needed to step up my usual casual sunday attire and bring my best carrie bradshaw to the table. Found this incredibly chic and comfortable 3.1 Phillip Lim dress at a Barney's sale and figure this brunch is the perfect excuse to bust it out!

New Years Dresses

As christmas quickly approaches I am suddenly realizing that right behind this joyous holiday comes NYE! Such an over-rated holiday but quit possibly the most anticipated one as it is filled with hope and promise of a great new year to come. This means one should always be dressed to the 9s for such an important event.  I always opt for sequins or for basic blacks when choosing my NYE dresses, what is your go to for NYE dress?!

Style Inspiration

Every fashionista needs to gain inspiration somewhere whether it be the glossy pages of Vogue or people watching on the streets of Paris.  Lately, I have been combing the pages of Pinterest.  Hands down my new favorite website that has caused me to lose countless hours of my days but you won't hear my complaining.  Here are a few snapshots of some of my favorite fashion pins.

Clearly I'm a jeans type of girl after reviewing all these pictures...

Black Out

Date night with the boy-toy ended up as a black out.  Go figure as a recent transplant from New York that my wardrobe is stocked full with any and everything black but at least it goes with everything.

Boot-Cut

I have been stuck in skinny jeans/leggings and boots since the temperature dropped below 70 degree and I have to bust out of my rut! Hello Boot Cut jeans.  Why have I not been wearing you all along, you make my legs look a thousand times longer and my booty only a little bit smaller.  Also H&M came out with this gorgeous leather bag that is similar to the Foley + Corinna bag without the big price tag.  Obsessed.

Sunday Brunch

Sunday is by far my favorite day of the week. In San Francisco it means brunch, in Georgia it means family dinner. So all in all it's always a good day with good food and good friends.  Yum in my tum.  How fantastic is this sweater I found at Old Navy? Such a steal...

Halloween weekend. Sigh. True love with true hangovers that can only be cured by the spiciest bloody mary at Sunday brunch.  Today's brunch will be Pasta Pomodoro's in Noe Valley.

Daily Uniform

San Francisco weather is crazy. One day I was at the beach with 85 degree weather and the next thing I know when I woke up this morning it was a chilly 48 degrees outside.  Brrrrr. Good news is to keep warm and comfortable all you need are three things.  1. Sweater dress. 2. Leggings. 3. Boots.

1. Uniqlo Lambswool Boat-neck Tunic
2. TopShop Leggings
3. Cordani Waverly Boots
4. Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac Clutch

Everything under $50!

So as you all are aware, I have recently moved ALLLL the way across the country to San Francisco and am quickly learning it's chilly here.  Layers, I need lots of layers. The best part is layers are so freaking affordable.  My favorite go to stores for sweaters are H&M and Old Navy.  Today is quite possibly the perfect chilly so I figured I would let you know exactly what it is I'm rocking.

Emmy's Best Dressed

So as every young fashionista who watches awards show, I don't care about the awards... I care about the dresses.  This years Emmy's did not disappoint. Sure I love Kate Winslet but she has done her dress in every color. Yawn. Gwyneth Paltrow's dress made it look like she had a muffin top which she obviously didn't. Lea Michele's dress didn't play up her sexy figure enough and Heidi Klum's dress was just missing the Italian dressing on her lettuce dress. But here are some pictures of the girls I think killed it this year.

Kaley Cuoco in Romona Keveza
Sofia Vergara in Vera Wang

Rashida Jones in Alberta Ferretti

Kristen Wiig in Zac Posen

Kerry Washington in Zuhair Murad

Nina Dobrev in Donna Karan

Emily Blunt in Elie Saab

Julie Bowen in Oscar de la Renta
